What kind of Therapy Does the practice provide?

We are psychodynamically-oriented and work from a strengths-based, trauma-informed perspective. We frequently utilize behavioral techniques in our work, including cognitive behavioral strategies (CBT), dialectical behavior techniques (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based interventions. What does "psychodynamic" mean, exactly? Psychodynamic psychotherapy helps you develop an understand of and language for your internal world. People often seek out this type of therapy if they're looking to understand relational patterns, along with the root causes of their thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

How long is each therapy session?

The first visit is 60 minutes long. Follow-up visits are 45 minutes.

How frequently will we see each other?

Most patients meet for weekly sessions. For more intensive treatments, you may meet with your therapist twice per week.

How is therapy different from talking with my friends or family?

The therapeutic relationship is unique in that your therapist has an objective understanding of your experience. We want to help guide you to make positive changes in your life, and our role as therapist makes a difference in how we connect, what you share, and how far we can go in your self-exploration.

Do you accept insurance?

Sofia DiSanti LCSW PLLC is an in-network provider with most BlueCross BlueShield plans. If you have a different type of insurance, we are considered out-of-network providers. This means you can be reimbursed for much of the cost of our sessions by your insurance company. Prior to your first visit, we can verify the details around your out-of-network benefits, and can submit claims to your insurance on your behalf.
